Fun addition to a plain wall, but dimmer than I had hoped

I added these to a plain spot on a wall in the hopes they'd really 'pop' off of the light sage green color - looking for white lights. The light string itself is good quality and you can relatively easily bend each little group of three lights into different positions (up and down or to the left or right of the main cord). And all of the crazy different settings do work. (Though I only use them in on/off mode, not blinking modes.) I also appreciate the fact that from the end of the "stem" on the lights the cord is nice and long (guessing it's about 10'). that allowed me to put them up high and still be able to reach the outlet at the bottom of the wall without using an extension cord.
But the downside for me is COLOR. They are very yellowish colored lights. And yes, I did put them against other surfaces/colors to see if it was caused by the light green color on the walls. They are yellowish against all colors, especially white and off-white walls. I kept them because they're still nicer to look at then a blank spot. But if you're looking for brighter, whiter lights, this isn't the best pick.

LIKE: Exactly the warm glow that I love the most. Decorative during the day when it's off. Can be bent to mold it along the path you want to frame. Lights stay cold. I put it on a simple timer so it comes on in the dining room every night and goes off at sun rise. P.S. If you are looking for a simple timer that's manual (done with pins), I found mine on Amazon and it's called BND-60/U47 for $11.99 for a 2 pack. It is sold by BN-Link. So very simple to use! Also, I used Command Strips-Clear-Medium-2Lb to hang it. I started the far left side with the hook upside down to hold the loop on the end.
DISLIKE: Was very disappointed to see it's completely wrapped in BLACK tape (think electrical tape that's very thin and dull). The black was too harsh for me so I spray painted it a Metallic Champagne Bronze (Rust-oleum Metallic). It's fine as long as I don't over handle it, otherwise it will start flaking off. The best part about the paint color is that it gives it a textured branch appearance that's much better than the black wrapped tape (SEE PICTURE). You can see how obvious the wrapped tape is in the close up.

The process of untangling them is a huge chore. I had to hang a few hooks up & went from there. Even once untangled they want to constantly be tangled together! It's a nightmare doing this solo & for storage purposes I'm sure I'll be cussing again BUT once up, they are super bright. So much so, I hung them behind my white shears to soften the lighting. They are adorable so forgiven
