I bought these for me and the hubs to use at Monster Jam. With them, I was well-prepared for the mega blast of engines revving and roaring. I slapped on the ear bra and was fine with the noise.
On the other hand, my husband had a real problem. With the ear clamps on, he was so comfortable that he fell fast asleep. IN THE MIDDLE OF MONSTER JAM!
They clearly work to muffle the noise, but Buyer Beware! You might miss the whole show if you choose these ear muffs.

I got these to use with woodworking equipment - I have another pair but the level of noise reduction is not quite as much as I would like so decided to try these that have a 37 dB rating. While the fit is very good I didn't notice much (or any) difference in the level of noise reduction compared to my other pair that is rated at about 28 dB, so in that regard they were disappointing. However, they did provide a decent level of noise reduction, seem to be well constructed and were very comfortable so they will get plenty of use along with two other pairs from different manufacturers. I suspect to get the level of noise reduction I want I will have to use ear plugs with these over them. I did not try them out for shooting so don't know if they are better with percussive sounds - YMMV.
For the low price, these worked very well.
