I really like this light. It is very bright and great for my plants, However the dimmer function is just bad. It is full on or just barely on. I get the feeling this led was not meant to be dimmed with a rheostat.

Nice looking light, nice and bright. The dimming function is not great, you can do it a bit better by making minute adjustments but I'm not sure if it's actually good for the LEDs.

I have seen other comments about heat and problems with dimmers but in the short time I have had my light, I have not seen these to be an issue. After running all day, I can wrap my hand around the light and, while it's warm, it's not so hot as to come even close to burning. The dimmer gets a little hinky when you stop it down to the lowest point, but again, not an issue to me. Appears well made and is a very intense light with a nice color. Too soon for me to comment on how it does with the plants, but it's hard to imagine it won't work well. Mine is on a 5 gal Nano tank. I have it turned down just a bit and once plants are established in there, I will adjust it up or down as needed.

This lamp is VERY bright which I totally LOVE. It has the options of turning down the light too. It works with a timer you can get from Walmart so you can have it on a light cycle if you want. The clamp is very strong which is good. The only reason I took off a star is the heat. The lamp isn't going to overheat and kill your fish, but it does get hot so I've hurt myself a couple times aquascaping or cleaning glass (I also only have a 5 gallon). This is 100% a recommended product!
