I purchased this lamp to illuminate my desk for schoolwork. It is the perfect size-I didn't want something overpoweringly large, nor did I want something so small that it would not be functional. This was the Goldilocks size for me-just right! The head of the lamp is easily moved in all directions, and it feels well built and sturdy. Although it does cast a nice light, it's not quite as bright as I imagined it would be. I'm not sure if using a different lightbulb would help since I have only used the recommended 40W bulb. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this lamp.
