I got this and paired it with a generic HDD. Formatted the HDD and VOILA! I have an external hard drive with all the storage I need. I like that the cord stores wrapped around itself and fits snugly against it. The other external HDD I have has a cord that doesn't and I have to rubberband it to itself. This one is neater looking. I quite like it.

I had to send the first one (this one) back because I needed USB 3 and not USB 3.1 (Gen2 Type C). I was able to get return authorization almost immediately and once Amazon received notification from UPS that it was on its way back, they credited my account. I ordered the new one the same time I was obtaining the RMA and it came in a couple of days. It worked great! It was easy to put a SSD drive in it and the rugged case seems like it will hold up well to just tossing this into my laptop bag and away I go. The connector cable is permanently fixed at the drive and wraps around the outside of the drive for storage. Nice and neat. That means no more looking around for the right cable when packing up to go.
