Functions well but came set for wrong region

This Blu Ray device functions very well, but it came set for region 2 even though I bought it in the US and should have set for region 1. It was not readily obvious that this was the problem until I checked into it. I had to look up how to modify it and it worked well after that. Runs quiet and smooth. Haven't recorded anything so can't speak to that.
Really Plays Blue Ray Disks

I bought this because I wanted to be able to watch my Alien Anthology Collection Series that I paid $55 for I had bought a cheaper player but it would not play them instead it scratched up 1 of the disks from the collection an would only play certain blue ray movies. So I decided to spend a little more money an get a player that is a name brand player instead of the know name player I bought before. This player is great it played the disk that was scratched with some delays in playing because of the scratches. But the other Blue Ray Movies that I have played fine all the way to the end of the movies on them. I know this is also a writer but I have not used that part of it yet I will probably try that this winter to copy the disk that was damaged by the other Player. So if you want one that does everything get this also recommend that you look for the torrent for PowerDVD20 or AnyMP4 BlueRay Player or VLC Blue Ray Player cause they will work without having to pay a fortune for them look on the internet for these I will find them.
Nice and compact. It does not come with DVD Blueray Software

Con's - It has a USB/Lightning cable combo. It's a short cable and it's integrated into the unit meaning it cant be replace if it goes bad.
For best playback you should definitely use a USB 3 port.
For software Leawo works fine for playback and is free

Great buy if you miss the days of having a cd-rom drive for your computer or laptop. I know mostly everything is streaming but what about all the blu rays I already own? I don't want to have to buy them again. This drive is small and sits right on top of my desktop tower. It hardly makes any noise when reading the disc and its great to be able to utilize my old dvds and blu rays again.
