It worked, while a previous purchase did not. One thing, the first DVD I tried returned the message that it was for Australia - when USA was checked, it worked. The blu-ray played just fine.

I got a Mini PC and it has no SD or disc reading capabilities. Got this to remedy that, and the Mini PC sits right on top. This does exactly what I need it to do--throw a DVD or SD card in and be able to read and copy off the data. Recovered a bunch of old pictures this way.
Works well but does not provide an adequate power source and software. USB connectors were short.

Satisfied operation after I discovered that the unit was starved for power. Ended up connecting the micro-usb power cable connection by itself to a Insignia 5volt 4 amp quad USB hub. Disappointed that there was no blu-ray player software included. Downloaded several trial software programs that are quite pricey after the trial expires.
Have yet to attempt use with standard DVD or CD.
Haven't decided whether to purchase blu-ray software as most of the trial software players won't display menus and are almost prohibitive in cost.
Will update review in a few weeks after the trial periods expire.
