Key features

  • PRACTICAL POWDER: Dissolves easily into any drink, hot or cold. Mix into water, coffee, shakes, smoothies, yogurt, or oatmeal for a chocolate flavor that kicks your sweet tooth, but not your diet
  • MCT: Unlike competitors, each scoop has 10g of collagen protein & 5g of pure MCT oil powder, which supports ketosis. This combo slows protein absorption so your body uses it for recovery instead of converting to glucose.
  • ALL DAY ENERGY: Use in the morning to start your day or as pre-workout fuel. The protein will help suppress your hunger and appetite. Comes with an included scoop so no measuring or blender is needed.
  • HEALTH BENEFITS: Hydrolyzed collagen supports hair, skin, nails, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, eyes, gut, heart & brain health. It also has acacia fiber, which won't cause blood sugar spikes.
  • SUPER SUPPLEMENT: Gluten & dairy free, the powder has only 2 net carbs per serving, so it's best for low carb diets. The flavor tastes like dessert, with no added sugar.

That can't be good right?

I've been using this product for about a month and just now noticed this sticker. 🤦"â'€ï¸
I typically make my coffee that I add it to in the dark. But either way that can't be a good, right? The product itself is okay. I got unflavored which seems to have a slight bitterness too it. Maybe it's the lead. 😅 when I add it to my coffee it doesn't dissolve right away it takes a bit of stirring to dissolve it completely. Not sure how it's doing internally because I'll probably go back to using my Vital Proteins after this. That also also has lead in it. 🤷"â'€ï¸ðŸ˜… Anyway, not really sure how to rate this but hope this helps!
It’s ok

Bought the chocolate first and then the vainilla. I will not buy the vainilla one again. It has a weird taste.
Totally works for hair growth

My favorite flavor keto collagen is Cinnamon toast crunch. I was not a fan of the salted caramel at all! Strawberry was ok, and peanut butter was ok. This one is by far my favorite! I've been doing this drink mix for about 4 months, and I can really see it in my hair! It has grown so much in length, and it is thicker now!
Idk if it’s doing much but it is unflavored

I used to use the vital proteins collagen powder before going keto. Swapped for this for that change and can't say I've noticed any taste or difference in my drinks with this powder. That's a win! I noticed it also has MCT oil but again, not sure if it's doing much but happy to have it in the mix.
Lower price - get 5 stars. Pricier than I would like.

Sometime in early December, I decided to give this concoction a try because I HATE protein powders, I hate protein shakes and I really hate protein bars. The idea I could put this in coffee was very appealing.

The difference this makes for me is astounding. I put a scoop of this (scoop comes with) in my coffee with a little bit of heavy cream and I LOVE it. I stir it with a spoon. No need for a fancy messy blender thing. Not only does it taste good, but it gives me an extra boost of energy that coffee alone does not. I wake up wanting to make coffee so I can drink this. Taste: it is sweetened with Stevia. It has a slight bitter after taste. You could add Splenda to it to make it sweeter. But I've been trying to get away from sweeteners for a while and at this point, I am used to the Stevia aftertaste and can appreciate the sweetness. I assumed the main reason for the extra boost of energy was from the MCT oil. This item is so expensive, that instead of reordering (this container only has 20 scoops), I bought a cheaper MCT oil to mix in with heavy cream. What a mess that is. I hate the oil form. It's messy, requires that you blend the oil into the cream or the oil will float (gross). This is so much better and so I reordered it and I write this as I use up my second container of keto collagen. Each scoop has 10g of protein; which is good for me as I struggle to get enough protein into my diet due to low appetite. The only reason I may not constantly re-order is because of price.

Note that my husband, who does like protein powders, bars and shakes; does not find much difference when putting this into coffee. He doesn't like it particularly, but drinks it fine. He would give it 2 to 3 stars because of taste and price. He sees no difference in his energy level after taking this. The boost is likely to vary person to person.

What I do not like: THE PRICE COULD BE LOWER. I would be more likely to get this through Amazon subscription if the price was half of what it is. I do not need the ingredients to be "grass fed". That's a hint so you can lower the price point. On my last cup of coffee using this powder, I found a few white granules that while tasteless, were gross. At this price, please remove any collagen that did not powder. It could be fixed by sifting it before filling the containers in the factory.

If interested, see my dieting background below:

I started when I took a biochemistry class in college, and for a project I needed to research why Atkins did not work. Funny, no matter how much I searched, the evidence pointed at low cab making perfect sense. There are essential amino acids and essential fatty acids (this means that our body cannot make those, we must eat them). And yet, there are no essential carbohydrates, meaning that our body can make all the carbohydrates it needs. And so started my life of "dieting" using the low carb approach. At that time, when I was in my early 20s I lost 60 lbs doing low carb/Atkins. I kept it off for a few years. I had two kids and gained a bunch of weight. I am 39 years old now and my youngest is 5. I was still struggling with weight, even though I would cycle from standard American diet and low carb to control weight gain. Last summer (July 2017) I saw a doctor and under his guidance, I have been doing low carb again. This time around, they call it "ketogenic". But it is essentially the same thing I did years ago. Under this doctor's analysis we have been following my cholesterol, sugar and insulin levels and they are the best they have been in a decade. I will be turning 40 in 2018, and maybe because I now see my body as one intolerant to sugar, this time around, I see it as a lifestyle change instead of a diet. By the end of Dec 2017, I had lost 30 lbs.
