Decent light. Works well. Needs some

Comparing to Kessil A360X hybrid fixture with T5's over my main tank. I bought this light for my quarantine tank and a place to throw in misfit corals.
Build quality is good and if I had one gripe about the aesthetic it would be a line of clear plastic around the light fixture which bleeds light into the room. It may be attractive to some but not for me.
The install is straightforward and the fit and screws all went in easily. Unfortunately by design the farther out the light goes over the tank, the higher off the water it sits. Luckily over my IM NUVO 10 it fits perfectly both in height and distance over the water. If you were trying to get more spread over an IM30 lagoon you may be frustrated.
The remote seems to be a generic remote that they've repurposed for an aquarium (maybe?). The buttons aren't intuitive and if you're looking for a light to sit and change and play with, look elsewhere. I was able to stumble through the remote to get a 20k color temperature but I' scared to mess with it again. The sensor for the remote is located on the power supply. This was confusing and took me a minute since I have it placed underneath the cabinet. Once again, if you're looking for a clean install and to be able to use the remote, look elsewhere.
I know this company uses wifi modules in some of there other lights and it would have been really nice to have that option instead of the remote here...especially for setting an on/off schedule. This would have put it far and above the Kessil A80.
The light creates a decent shimmer without too much of a discoball effect. Two higher end Zoas frags didn't like the light but a frag of larger Pandora Zoas seem very happy. So does a high end Leptastrea. Finally my Toadstool seems happy and is fully open. I don't think I would try SPS or BTA's with it but I am admittedly a light snob. You may have some luck making it brighter by turning it up to a 10k color temp.
For the price I think you're getting close-to or a little less par than a Kessil 80 series and you're getting the tank mount included. So long as it doesn't die, it's a good deal.
Furthermore, while this company gets torched on forums....they are trying to provide customer service which is rare for this offbrand companies. There is definitely a language gap but I appreciate that they're trying. Unfortunately people think they should be getting a Kessil/Ecotech product for 1/8 the price and come down hard on the manufacturer when they don't.

Be sure to buy the Wi-Fi module. It doesn't come with it.
Perfect

This light is great. It has a remote that comes with it making it super convenient. Attached right to the back of the fish tank no problem and the light quality is excellent. Fishes are thriving.
Love the amount of control on this

I wanted to get a full spectrum light for a 5gal orchidarium, but did not want a purple grow light. Because orchids can be rather particular about lighting, I wanted some control over it. This seemed to be an intriguing option between controlling intensity and having a timer.
I am pretty pleased with the light. Even at a pretty low intensity (40%), it is plenty for my little tank. The tank looks good under it, and the orchids seem to be doing well with it.
The only downside seems to be that the internal timer is a little off and it can drift. Not the biggest deal - just turn off the light with the remote, turn on, and reset the timing schedule.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this. I'm guessing it'd work wonderfully for a little planted tank.

Great Light for a Cylindrical Planted Vase Aquascape
Laura Powell✓ Verified Purchase•September 24, 2023
The order arrived in 2 days as promised and was packaged very well. It even included a little pamphlet with photos showing how to put the clamp and additional lens together. The lamp is well made and feels very sturdy. It looks great on my cylindrical Vase tank and seems to put out quite a lot of light with very little heat. I also like the fact that it has a dimmer switch that I have on low for now since most of my aquatic plants are low light plants, sword and Java ferns as well as anubias. If you are into auto control you can buy the remote that works with wi fi on your phone. Great light for the price.
