The leather took the treatment well. Here it is on my GBA small forest axe. I think this is probably as good as you can get absent a custom made overstrike guard. Also the color matches the GBA mask pretty well. I'm very happy. The quality is just as good as guards that cost twice as much. Highly recommend!
Just needs some mink oil to protect and soften...

Using this product on an 8lb maul to protect a new hickory handle. Fit is pretty much universal and fit my handle just fine. I've only just started to use it, but after about a cord of oak split there's no sign of failure, just a few scratches. The leather is durable and the price is a no brainer.

This is a quality overstrike guard made with thick leather! I like it better than the Casstrom overstrike guard I got for my other axe. It fit my Wetterlings Large Hunters axe perfectly! Definitely recommended if you're looking for a quality overstrike collar without paying too much.
