Battery Registration for 2018 BMW X1 - Worked great.
Scott✓ Verified Purchase•August 20, 2023
Battery registration for 2018 BMW X1 - I did the software/firmware update from the Autophix web before even attemping. It worked no problems (I saw a review on here (after I already ordered) that it did not work on the 2018 X1). In any case worked great and I would recommend this device.

My Father in Law has an E53 X5 and I have an E90 M3.
This BMW-specific OBD2 has absolutely already paid for itself in the time (and parts) it saved me on the FiL's X5. He had the amber-trifecta of lights, which meant his Brake, TCS, and ABS lights were all illuminated. This seems to be a common issues and indicates generally wheel speed sensors or possibly the steering angle sensor. There is a "free" way to check and that is to use a digital multi-meter and check the diode resistance values from the ABS connector. You have to check a dozen values there and then remove each wheel and possibly check each sensor there, OR...you just get this simple device, plug it in and it tells you the live data for all 4 of his wheel speed sensors.
It's a pretty awesome and easy to use device. I was able to determine that all 4 wheel speed sensors were indeed working just fine and that his steering angle sensor lost power momentarily (maybe a wire that shorted, etc). I was able to reset the steering angle sensor, and see if it comes back to understand how bad his sensor is.
There's probably a few hundred things you can check. I did a full system scan to see everything that was wrong on his X5, and there were over a dozen stored fault codes and I wrote all of them down for the future. I was able to reset his oil service indicator light and in the future I can check his TPMS, do an ABS bleed and a hundred more things. And that was just for his car!
On my car, though I've had no issues, I am due for a battery soon and guess what...I can register the new battery on my car (as well as his)
Again, this little gadget has already paid for itself. I can vouch for a 2003 E53 X5 3.0 and a 2009 E90 M3. It will also work for a friend's E39 Touring, too.
Really an incredible value!
