Somehow these are both too big and too small. OK, not too big, actually about right for skiing or other knee-high applications, but I wouldn't recommend wearing these skiing.
I wear a 11-11.5 and have a somewhat wide foot. The sock overall is about the right size, but the heating wires that run the circumference of the toe box at the balls of your feet are literally the only part of the sock that isn't elastic. This also happens to be the widest part of the foot that flexes the most when you're walking. If you have even a slightly wide foot or you're near the top of the size range, buy a size up.
For me, getting the socks on was SNUG and a bit of a struggle to get my foot through that wire. Sitting still, it's not too bad, but any time I get up and walk around I can feel that wire pressing pretty hard. It's not quite digging in, but I worry about the strain going into that component potentially breaking the wire while I'm up and moving.
I intend to use these for hunting, so for the most part I'll be sitting still, but I worry about the hike in and out. I might wear normal socks for that part and slip these things on once I'm in the blind. The last thing I want is a shock inside my boots while I'm hiking through the woods! I would recommend the manufacturer add just a little bit more wire to this part of the sock, since it really limits the sizing.
Aside from that, these things are pretty awesome. The heating is very nice and comfortable, and they're very easy to use.

As a person that like to hunt and ice fish. So far with the hunting portion, they worked awesome!! Usually my feet are the first to go cold in a deer stand. Not this time. It was hard for me to feel for the button to turn them on when I was in the stand, but just a feel thing since I could not pull my pants legs up. I didn't have then on when walking out to the stand because I didn't want my feet to overheat. My next test with them will be when Ice Fishing season is happening here in MN.

You will still want to layer these with a wool blend or other similar material to get the maximum effect. Easy to use and turn on and off while sitting in my Hunting Stand.

These kept me nice and warm this hunting season. Most winters I wear two pairs of socks with several hot hands also in my boots. This year I wanted to try something new, and these were great. They were tall enough that they didn't interfere with wearing my tall muck boots. Also, the button is big enough you can feel it through a layer or two of clothes. I was up in a tree stand for 3-4 hours at a time and the battery length was just right, although I'll probably order another set of batteries next year, so I don't have to recharge during lunch. The outdoor temp was between 20-40*F and these kept my feet feeling just right. The only reason I give these a 4 instead of a 5 is that I don't feel like the quality is the greatest, I think they will hold up for several hunting seasons but would probably not survive everyday wear for outside workers. Also, they are a bit tight in the foot area which makes them a little tough to get on.
