Time will tell on the longevity.

It's been 3 weeks and the light works very well. Easy to program with the app on your phone.

The light works very well. The fact that it is waterproof is great. The light is designed to mount just above the tank on the supplied rails. It fits under the lid of my old Red Sea tank. It does generate some heat and so you need to have air flow around the light. There are no fans. The nice thing is that the temperature is monitored so you can tell if the electronics are too hot. The only down is that the app wants to know your location. It seems odd that it needs to know that I am in Montana to make the controller work. I have not tried the custom lighting, but the prepackaged adjustments look great.

This is a Bluetooth version, i'm not sure why the Wifi version is cheaper than Bluetooth version for the same size, maybe the app could be different for some features, i don't know if the WiFi version has minor features on the app.

Related to the HW, i liked, it's seems strong and longtime use, the button on the side does not do anything, i supossed that is the same frame for the wifi version, but in this case it seems than does not do anything. The LED power are good in each channel, has 4 channel to be configurated. Bluetooh pair was easy, but the firmware upgrade fails the first time, so i was scary of a get a brick, but after some retries it upgrades, maybe a change info for the firmware upgrade for know what are changed and procedure could be great in case of break. The frame mounts are not removable or i cannot find the way to do it. The power is a 24V 3A DC, so in case of damage it will be easy find a replacement because it's similar to a laptop power source, the power cord has good length.

So the SW it's good because it's works, but could be better, I'm using Android, but the software doesn't have some help even on Play store doesn't have how to use, has 4 buttons for selection, (1) Device for connect to your LED showing RSSI (power of signal) and status, (2) the second one has a review of the actual program in a chart, inside this menu has 6 buttons, (2.1) Preview button for run the program configured, (2.2) Neon, (2.3) Ray lights, (2.4) Cloudy, (2.5) Temp on F o C (touch for change), (2.6) some related to the temp. (3) spectrum, (4) Program, (5) Settings, take in mind that (3),(4),(5) works separately, so, if you change something in (3) and set as actual, reverts changes did it on (4) & (5), the (4) has a preconfigured but inside (4) you can create your own planned program, so remember save it an upload to the lamp, if you does not upload your lamp does not will take your program, after upload you can return to (2) and see how the chart change and use (2.1) for a 'fast' showing of your program (could be great that the app shows what time are during the preview), in other way, the lamp just can run at the same time one of the menus, (2) or (3) or (4) or (5).

I seldom write reviews, however, there are limited reviews for this light. Honestly, I almost didn't purchase it due to the lack of reviews. I am soo pleased with this purchase, I want to share my thoughts... The tank that I purchased these lights for is a 125 gallon tank. It is 72" long. It's hard to find quality lights in a 72" version, and when you can, they start at about $400 dollars and go up from there. Anyway I opted to use 2 of these lights in the 36" version to cover the 72" that I needed. They came boxed very well with ample protection for the light and power supply. When I first took the light out of the box, it was obvious that this was a quality product. It had a great, solid feel to it. The light has a really great looking finish to it. It is also the most rigid tank top light I have ever seen. It will not flex, or sag in the middle, like many other lights do. This thing is built extreamly well. It was quick to set up and get working. The units came with a quick setup guide. It Instructs you to download the app and get the light paired and functional. It's quick and easy. Ok this next part might cause some of you to be concerned... but don't be. This light comes with very limited instructions regarding how to use the app. Please realize that this is a common occurrence with all app controlled lights, regardless of brand. (Including Fluval) What this means... is that you are left to figure out what the different settings do, and how to use them. It took me a couple of hours to figure it all out, but it was well worth the effort. Once you know what you are doing... this app is very easy to use. I am 63 yrs. old, I'm not very smart, and I'm not tech savvy. I did it, and you can too! You might be wondering... why is it worth the challenge. The answer is quite simple... This is a high quality light, at an unbelievably low price point. This light has only been available for about a year in the freshwater configuration. (thats why there arent many reviews) I believe it is priced low, so that people will try it out. I believe that once this light gains popularity, that the price could potentially double. The marine version of this light has been around a few years and the 36" version sells for $178. on Amazon. The Fluval 3.0 plant light in the 36" version sells for $199. on Amazon. The 36" version of this light at the time of this review is $88. on Amazon. It's my opinion that this light is truly worth twice the price, when compared to the competition. I forgot to mention... The app controls these 2 lights simultaneously, as if it was 1 light. No delays, No response difference. The lights operate as if they are one! This is a great benefit if your setup requires multiple lights. Anyway... I Really Love These Lights, and I honestly think YOU WILL TOO!!! Hope this review is helpfull.

A bit difficult to program and one has to have a "smart phone" with the app to use the timer.
