It puts out a nice even light

I have a piece of artwork measuring 30x37 including the frame. I needed a light to display it. I originally purchased a cheap one here on Amazon for around $29, but was very unhappy with it because it mainly lit up the upper middle portion of the picture and not much else. I did end up keeping it and use it on a small piece of artwork and it works OK for that. Then I bit the bullet and bought this one. It is the 17" standard light. Originally I wanted the one they make that is cordless, but that one doesn't have a remote control and I have to have a remote due to the location of the picture. When I received it I decided not to do any of the installation using the screws and brackets. I simply put the two rods behind the frame and it works great. The light is wonderful and illuminates the entire painting. The painting came to life! The only negative is the power cord shows, but I will work on doing a better job of hiding it. The remote control works great. I turn it on every night and hit the 3 hour button on the remote and it automatically turns off after 3 hours. I would say this light is worth the extra money, especially if you have a fine piece of art.
Is it worth the premium you pay compared to the other art lights?

I built a display of family photographs and memorabilia on my living room wall 6 months ago. Kind of like a collage of frames. They are tightly grouped together in a way that makes them more like one large piece of art than 30+ individual frames (to my eyes). Ever since completion I've been unhappy with the overhead room lighting for illumination of the piece. I've had the Situ fixture in my "saved for Later" Amazon list for months. I couldn't understand why it was so much more expensive than every other fixture in the "art light" category. Every once in a while I would click on it, look at the price, read the description again, and move on. I even purchased one of the more economical brands. I wasn't pleased. So, a few weeks ago I bit the bullet and bought the Situ. Based on the product information my art piece required the 56" version in a standard width to height format. I'm no art gallery owner but I know enough about lighting and color rendition to realize the standard 2700k color should make my family photos (skin tones) look their best. It arrived last week. Simple instructions. Easy installation. The remote has multiple levels of brightness allowing me to choose just the right light level depending on the ambient light in the room. I clicked the ON button. And now I know why the Situ costs so much more. I am absolutely stunned. Edge to edge, top to bottom, the illumination is even and well defined. The color rendition is spot-on. The individual pieces come alive! Guests who in the past barely noticed it on the wall are newly attracted to it. It is now truly a conversation starter and a family attraction. All this from an understated, super thin LED housing that almost disappears above the art. I could not ask for anything more.
Bravo, Situ!
The best light for the best art

I love the way these lights accent my fine artwork. I have a friend that does amazing photography work and I was looking for the perfect lights to accentuate his skills. These lights, although not cheap by any means, are the perfect way to highlight the best art. If you are wondering if these products are worth it, think about the investment you've made in your art. The best art deserves the best lighting and these are by far the best I've found for the price range!
I really don't think a better picture light exists

This is a high quality light made in America by craftsmen (or women) who obviously care about the product.
Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. You can also pay twice or three times as much and the product won't be any better. The light cuts off cleanly at the top, so you can position it so it just touches the top of the picture frame and goes no farther. The remote gives you infinite dimming, and also includes a timer for how long the light stays on. There is a great range of finishes to choose from. The CRI is as good as it gets. It's very small, so it's not competing for attention with the actual picture. Packaging and instructions were excellent. Shipping was fast. (Shipping cost $17 from Florida to Hawaii).
You can choose between 2700 or 3000k. We went with 2700 and we are very happy, but it totally depends on your art. I really can't recommend this company and this product highly enough.
Amazing

What a great product, easy to install, perfectly shipped and packaged, the remote control is incredible with the varying levels of light and my art has never looked better. Do yourself a favor. If you really want to see the artwork on your wall this is the way to go. I picked up details in some of my oil paintings that I've never seen before because the existing lights were not brilliant enough. Great company great product.
