worked on my 03 crown victoria showed basic data wish it would show the trans temp

I installed this in my Smart Fortwo. I am a car guy and cannot stand not knowing basic information about what is happening in my vehicle. New cars all seem to have removed gauges that help monitor your vehicle's status. This device plugs directly into the OBD II port and gives current information regarding Voltage, Temperature, Mileage, and RPMs. It has other features like fault code reader and other information displays, but the above features are mainly what I use it for. My only complaint so far is the voltage is off by about a half volt compared to my meter on the battery, but other than that it does exactly what I intended it to do.

If you are like me and frustrated that did not include a water temperature or oil temperature guage in your car, then this is an easy cost effective solution. I'm using this in my M235i to know when my engine is at proper operating temperature, which it does pretty well. It shows both the water and oil temperatures, which is the key things I wanted. I can't confirm how accurate they are, but they seem to be inline with what my torque app showed.

Some key things that I do like. Was easy to install with the OBDII plug to USB C plug. Easily configured to show both the oil and the water temperatures. You can rotate the display 180 degrees so you can install it on your dash or hand it upside down on your windshield without a problem. it also automatically shuts down when the car is turned off, so should not cause a battery drain issue that I have heard on other options.

Things I don't like are that it is rather large. Would be nicer if they made it more compact. I can't figure out how to show boost pressure or intake temperatures, which I could in the Torque app. The sticky tape is good enough to stick to the windshield but not good enough to stick to the bottom of the gouge.

Overall this is the best cost solution I have found for seeing my engine temperatures on my M235i. It could be better though, but it does the key things I wanted it for which is why I will keep it.

So, I had bought this since my car (a 2008 Toyota Prius, don't hate me), lacks certain instrument readouts that some other vehicles do, or just don't show up on the main instrument cluster, ie: RPM or engine temperature. So, I had bought this product partly for those reasons, and, it has so far satisfied me. I haven't been able to really test the item extensively due to me getting it just a few hours ago, or today, when I type this, but, I am pretty sure that I'll update this review as time goes by. I definitely enjoy seeing what my engine RPM is, and this item I do feel like will get the job done, the question(s) is (are) will it be a reliable product and how long will it last for me.

So, having this just short of about a full week, I found that it'll be quick to reboot sometimes, that was for a few days, I was looking through my screen shots and noticed I took one of someone asking if there was a way to have it shut off for a start/stop vehicle when they shut their car down due to them being worried about it draining the battery down and someone mentioned about going into the settings and setting the start voltage to 13.5 volts, so I did. That does seem to have largely midegated the problem, but, it still reboots once in a while, it will do it when I go to turn my car on, I'm not sure if it is because of voltage fluctuations when turning on or what, but, hey. A few days after I got it, I hooked it up to my grandfather's friend's vehicle that does have a rpm guage, it seems to be like the kennwei rpm guage is about 500 or so rpm slower. While my grandfather's friend's vehicle was reporting about 1,200 rpm, the kennwei was reporting about 700 to 800 rpm, I'm not sure if that was just because of the vehicle reporting wrong or the kennwei was reporting wrong, I haven't tested which it is yet.

So, I was contacted by konnwei on my Amazon account message board, and pretty sure they mentioned about bringing the start voltage up to 14.5 volts to try to stop the device from rebooting (I think), it had the opposite effect, even sometimes shutting down while I was driving down the road. So, I think I dropped the voltage down to 13.8 volts, and eventually down to 13 volts, and seems to have mitigated the issue, but still does reboot. I noticed that, say I went 10 miles, that the device would be off about 1/2 a mile or more of total mileage traveled. I had mentioned to konnwei about the brightness and the reflection in the windshield in times of when the day transitions into nighttime, asking them if they could put out a update and/or if they had a type of hood that could mitigate or fix that issue, and, they mentioned that they had passed the feedback to their team.

I bought another one of these after I didn't have one for a while, and I received it yesterday (as of this part of the review), and, the one I have now seems to be a bit better as of right now in terms of not rebooting as frequently.

Bought this because my 1999 f250 v10 fuel gauge wasn't working anymore and this tells you very accurately the fuel consumption so I was very happy to see a solution for that plus gives you a whole of different options in terms of different stats with your vehicle. Only thing for me to improve is changing the color on the screen.
