I really liked this magnifying light. Easy to adjust and clamp on to whatever I needed. But now it doesn't work because the plastic cover for the cord pulled put of the light control box.

I really like this magnifying desk lamp. It's great for putting together small puzzles, getting out splinters, and many other things that you need to see up close. I highly recommend.

If you're not planning on using this 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, this is a pretty decent choice.
The cord is definitely short, and it's obviously repurposed from a basic camera ringlight, with the color balance control and USB power. But it has a nice range of brightness, and gets bright enough to use. The lens is nice and sharp and crisp without any significant waviness or color distortion.
The metal parts and hinges and so on are definitely built down to a price. Things are going to loosen up and bend eventually. However, it looks like it is made with decent quality nuts and bolts, and the metal is thick enough, and things are made well enough that as long as you're reasonably gentle with it, it should last for a while, and be easy enough to keep going for a while longer.
If the magnifier is something you're going to need to use all the time then you're probably better off finding something better. However, if you just need one sometimes for basic home projects and hobbies, this one is not bad at all. I've seen far, far worse for not much cheaper.
