I am completely satisfied with this light, although there are a few things that could be better.
pros:
1 qualitatively made
2 good spectrum of light
3 wide functionality, with programming to meet your needs
4 built-in timer
5 the plants are thriving
and cons:
1 could be a little brighter for this size
2 every time it is turned off, you need to reprogram the timer, which is not easy at all
3 the mount could be higher... it's too close to the surface for me.
I don't regret that I bought this light, because the plants grow like crazy from it, you can see it in the future I would consider buying the light and timer separately, in case of a power outage this set would work more reliably

Great budget light. I'm getting another one for another tank. I set the DIY mode run it 10% @ 6am up to 70% @ noon, then back down to 10% @ 4 and off at 9pm.. when I want to enjoy it I just turn it on at 40%. The only thing is I had to find the riser brackets separately. Wish they did come with them but still the light quality is very good. My plants are doing great with this set up it's actually one of my healthier tanks and as you can see from my pictures everything grows in it! I've even thrown plants that struggled in other tanks in here and they bounced back stronger than when I got them! This light is definitely a factor in that. Definitely will use this light on all my tanks moving forward

It's altogether very easy to program, though can be a bit confusing at first. I previously had an older Hygger model and replaced it with this after it was showing signs of failing. This hg999 is a much needed improvement. I wasn't expecting it to be half as wide as the older lamp. A major plus. And wow is it bright! I love the greater variety of colors possible and the various options for programming. I have it set on diy mode so the lamp simulates sunrise and sunset and then stays on 10% red overnight. It's nicer on the eyes at night than blue light so it works out for everyone. I'm happy that, because the lamp is a lot wider and much brighter, the lighting is a lot more effective on my aquarium. I will look into getting a couple more of these for my other aquariums. (=

This light works perfectly for my 10 gallon. It's so easy to set the timer, and it's always consistent around the clock. One of my favorite features is the gradual fade in and out of the lights; the lights don't abruptly switch on at the exact minute you set them to and actually turn up a little bit at a time. This is great for my betta, since they don't adjust to sudden changes in lighting as well as other species, and can get damaged eyes if dazzled.
You can also change the color! I set my full spectrum for a daylight cycle, then do a little 50% B + G action for the first few hours of the night. It switches all on its own and I barely give a thought to the lighting unless I'm shuffling some plants around.
I've used this light for months now and haven't had a single issue with it. Even when our power went out during storms, my time settings were saved and I only needed to adjust the clock.
Highly recommend this bad boy if you want a full spectrum sunlight type of thing for your plants + don't want to hassle with an obnoxious LED fixture. Definitely a great deal for the price. Just be careful how you scape with plants that prefer more of a dim atmosphere, like them java ferns, because the light is pretty powerful and can scorch them. Other than that, this thing is great 👠you should get one
