Freesky E Bike Review

First Impression: Extremely well packaged, components and finish look high quality. Comes with a tool kit.

Assembly: Fairly straight forward. Connect the handlebars, guidelines make it easy to center. Attach the front wheel and the headlight. The headlight was a newer model with a different attachment and the bolt was missing. I was able to use a bolt I had, and install was easy even they do have an updated video on their website. I didn't forget to pump up the tires. Range is 24 to 30, I went with 26 for a softer ride. The front suspension has adjustments for how hard and how deep the shock works, but the default settings were fine for me.

Charging: First charge took about four hours. Battery can be charged in the bike or outside. Only takes a few seconds to remove/install. An external additional battery is available. The battery has a lock to prevent theft.

First Ride: I took a ride with the battery out and it was not unlike riding any other mountain bike. It has seven gears and they shifted smoothly, and I used them all.

First E Ride: Rode up the steepest longest hill without any issue. Set the assist to level one and was able to pedal up without any difficulty. Tried riding over a few bumps and curbs and the front suspension absorbed them perfectly. Riding around the yard on grass, gravel and hills was a blast. There were a few times when I needed to use the throttle to get up a hill and there were times where I just hit the throttle for the sheer fun of it. I did find I used the gears less and stayed in 3 and 4 most of the time. I think that the impulse is to just hit the throttle a bit rather than drop a gear.

Fun Factor: I can't put into words just how much fun it is. Anytime you want to accelerate, just a tap on the throttle gets you moving quickly. The tires are massive and handle gravel and rocks with ease and comfort.

Controls: Gears are on the right handle bar and work like any other bicycle. Throttle is by the left thumb. There are three buttons for electronics. The center button is pressed and held to power on/off. The "+" button is pressed to increase assistance and held to power on/off the headlight. The "-" button is pressed to decrease assistance and held to activate cruise control. If you press and hold the "+" and "-" buttons, you enter the programming mode and can remove speed limits and set other options.

Comfort: The height, stability, and seat were all comfortable. The ride quality is excellent. Controls are easy to operate. There is a slight whine from the electric motor, but it won't bother anyone.

Other Stuff: The LED headlight is nice and bright, but the off-road cage blocks a lot of it. It bounces while riding but I don't think that's different than any other set up.

Assistance Levels: I expect that when on flat paved surfaces like the rail trail, I would turn off any assistance and just ride normally. On the street, in hilly areas, on unpaved areas, I would expect to use one of the assistance levels based on your ability. For real off-road riding, you would probably use the full electric mode and ride it more like a dirt bike.

Upgrades: It did not come with a bottle cage, so that's an easy, no brainer option. The pedals are OK, but the pegs are not tall enough for any rough terrain, so I upgraded those. I ordered a frame bag with a phone holder. I decided to get a left side view mirror to see coming cars when I am on the street.

Legality: In NYS, there are no licenses or registration required as of now. Some trails do not allow "motorized vehicles" so if you leave the factory speed limits in place, it is only a class one electric bike and not a motorized vehicle.

The media could not be loaded. The packaging of the Freesky 750W stood out as soon as the shipping box was opened: there was an almost obsessive amount of protection applied to all parts, including metal braces to protect the rear derailleur and front fork. I had rarely seen that level of safeguarding with a non-US/EU branded bicycle before. My first impression of this bike and the company started off as impressive and pride of their product.
Attaching the front wheel, front fender, handlebar, pedals, kickstand, and front headlight, as well as adjusting cables, was a breeze. In fact, no major adjustments were required, including the brake and gear shift cables, as well as the Tektro disc brakes. I was expecting to make some adjustments to the front and rear disc brake modules, but it worked perfectly right out of the box. The bike came with 26" x 4" CST tires, a 26" aluminum frame, and lubed bike chains. We took it for its maiden voyage after adjusting the seat post height to fit me between 5'4"²"² and 5'6"²"²), handlebar attack angle, and charging the battery fully for about 3 to 4 hours.
The LCD control panel showed the units in "mph" and the display was bright and easy to read. The battery level was visible on both the display in 20 percent increments and by pressing a button on the battery itself will show the power status. The motor's assistance amount could be controlled by pushing the "+" and "-" buttons on the LCD unit: from completely off to as many as 5 levels of power, including Pedal Assist (PAS). The current speed, as well as other trip information and the odometer reading, were also displayed. At night this is very bright and you're able to see all the important information without any issues. Even with polarized sunglass will not affect this screen.
I love that Freesky integrated their battery into the frame which gives it a very sleek innovative design. The battery is detachable and can be locked with the provided keys, allowing the bike to be left outside while the 720Wh battery (48V @ 15A) is brought into the office or home for desk-side charging. It took approximately 6 to 8 hours to fully charge. During my first few rides I worked the math out to about 37 to 50 mi range with pedal assist and 25 to 35 miles when in full electric mode. The bike's top speed was around 32 mph, but local US law allowed for up to 20 mph in general.
Shimano's gear shifting system performed admirably. With only 7 gears, it won't be able to climb the most difficult trails, but it's ideal for city riding. Why would gears be important on an eBike? What if the battery died? Pedaling a 73-pound bike up inclines without motor assistance or the ability to shift gears can be extremely difficult, so the variable speeds are a welcome relief. The lockable front fork suspension made for a smooth ride. I was able to go on and off road without much issues, the powerful motor pushed me through all that terrian without any lag. I also love the upgraded LED projector headlight which laid out a perfect beam pattern on the path ahead of me.

Overall, the Freesky 750W was a full-featured eBike with a design aimed at people who want off-road excitement while also wanting to cruising around parks, cities and towns. Biking is both a healthy activity and a great way to bond with one another, and having an electric bike of high quality and strong motor tops it all. I felt this brand Freesky was a lot more innovative than others on the current market around the same price range, the samsung battery paired with BAFANG motor sealed the deal.
Bafang is known for their high quality best performing motors that set the gold standard early in the ebike world.

The media could not be loaded. This electric bike is an absolute beast! That's very much what I wanted to say about it. Let me start saying about the way it was packaged and delivered. It came in a huge box. If I would of guess, it might be roughly 77lb because the bike itself is 75lb including the battery. Luckily, it was very well packaged and many Styrofoam. These Styrofoam are thick and nothing was broken nor even a scratch. Also, the big zipties were holding everything in place so when I open it up, I have to cut them before taken out of the box. Otherwise, it will be very heavy to lift 75lb bike out of a 3ft tall box.

The assembly was absolutely amazed me. I was afraid that It's going to take me a whole day putting every components together, but I was wrong indeed. If I tell you it took me 30 minutes from cutting the box until completely assembled this bike, you probably think I was lying. But rest assure, it is the truth. How crazy is this? The instructions were printed in color with big pictures showing the details how to put each components together. There wasn't many that I have to put together. The only things that were detached are the pedals, front splash guard, and front wheel. The rest were pretty much pre-assembled. Now you understand why I said 30 minutes total. I meant it was for an average person not like pros.

The riding experience was something completely different than riding a normal bike. It gives you the confidents that you can go anywhere for a long period of time. When I was using a normal bike, I couldn't ride pass 5 miles. With this bike assistance on, I can go further like 10 miles. It is very speedy though. It gives me the smooth and comforts when riding it. Mostly due to the fat tires, front/back suspension. The shock absorption can be adjusted for pedaling efficiency. All of these including the whooping 750w brushless motor, will give you the best experience and the monster speed you've ever had.

The electronic controls is on the left side of the handlebar were easy to use and managed, but if you feel more comfortable on the right side, you can also switch it if needed. The screen was easily readable even with under direct sunlight, but you can adjust the angle however you like. I found a USB charging port right at the bottom of the LCD Smart Display where I can charge my phone while riding. I suggest you to purchase a bike phone holder which is super convenient because you can charge your phone and see notification right in front of you. The bike has 2 keys but I use one and keep one as a backup. The key hole can be found under the battery compartment. It is a little inconvenient at first but I find that it's good hidden that way so it doesn't get in the way when in operation. The battery packed with 48v 15An, 720Wh with Samsung cells so it will fast a few years. It only takes 4 to 8 hours for fast charging. When go camping, I take my portable generator with me so I can charge this electric bike which is great.

This bike is absolutely amazing with a very affordable price. I think anybody can fall in love with it if experienced it first hand in real life. Trust me, you don't want to spend on $3500 electric bike which has the same features but with different brand. Hope this helps and congratulations if you've purchased this one!

Was a little skeptic, but it showed up fast and packaged very well. Easily put together, had it done in less than 30 minutes. Instructions say to charge battery to full before riding, but my charger was not working. I took it for a spin and it's a lot of fun, very smooth with adjustable suspension. Highly recommend reading the manual as this E-Bike works a lot differently then ones I have used before. After realizing that, the operation is easy and has some speed to it. With the charger not working, customer service actually reached out to me the day it was delivered. After testing and explaining what was going on, they sent a new charger and all is well. Very happy with the purchase and looking forward to using it next fall for the hunting season. Seat is comfortable if it's just you, with a hunting pack also I will be getting a softer seat.

This was really easy to assemble as it comes with a little tool kit for everything needed to assemble it. There are no instructions to follow but it's common sense. There's no info how to operate the bikes onboard electronics but little bit of Google search and I found everything I needed to know. As for the bike it's amazing, full power, pedal assist, or pedal. It isn't light (75lbs) and I'm 6'2" at 251lbs this thing scoots down the road at 18mph with pedal-assist 1 and at 5 I was humming at 29mph +/-1, freaking amazing bike.. Brakes stop on a dime, they're hydraulic. Seat is nice n comfy, onboard electronics gives you the pedal assist level/charge/speed/headlight, the headlight is very bright no extra lights needed (I put a manual blinking tail light on it)The dual crown forks has locking capabilities but they're not spongy at all, front wheel has a quick release and the paint on this is amazing as well, nice n thick. I haven't had to add one thing as this has satisfied me out of the box. I'm not doing heavy down hill I'm mostly pumping around the city/town/beach. I've put 84miles on in 1 1/2wks.
I've learned much like some other posters have said the same thing (electric bikes period) if your not used to the pedal assist use with caution till you get the feel of the bike. I was coming up to a light, was braking and when I went for a half crank to pedal up the street light corner ramp the pedal assist kicked in and launched me into traffic so be careful. This motor is very powerful.
