Perfect for my chinchilla.. it's not too big but not too small! She absolutely loves it! Very easy to clean.

I adopted three female rats from the spca and bought this cage after reading all the positive reviews. It works really well for my rat trio. They love climbing up and down all the ramps and ledges. They cannot squeeze through any of the gaps. We have a litter box, food dish, water bottle, hammock, a little climbing castle, a rope net, and a large wheel for them to run on in there and they still have space to run around. We layer newspaper on the bottom and the pull out tray underneath makes for easy cleaning. I'm also really happy about the price. There are some expensive cages out there but this one really gets the job done.

It took me about 40 minutes to put it together by myself. Other reviews said to watch the video instead of using the instructions it comes with so I watched the video. For me it wasn't the difficult once I got the hand of it. I am only using one perch and ladder at the moment. The ladders are VERY steep and hard for them to climb so I need to get some thick fabric until my other steps and ladders I got come in. Once they do I'll be drilling a few holes into the included plastic perches/levels to attach better ladders and steps.

My trio is litter box trained (hence the big yellow box in the corner) so I put a large kitty litter tray in there with their bedding and a hidey hole for them. I won't need to use the pull out tray.

I got it while it was on sale for $89, and it is totally worth that price and even the usual $100. I did have to use some zip ties but that is only because one of my rats is still on the younger side so I wanted to secure it a bit better. The big rats can't escape at all, so once the baby gets bigger I'll most likely remove the zip ties.

There is plenty of room for toys, and enrichment. I am still building the cage out, but as it sits right now the boys are enjoying it and I look forward to filling it up for them!

The pros:
*Works great for our two adult fancy rats
*Decent price for two stories
*Easy to roll from room to room
*Definite upgrade from the tiny cage we were using when the rats visited upstairs (they have a two story Critter Nation cage downstairs)
*Worked well for when one rat got pneumonia, because I could keep her comfortably near me for observation and treatments
*Will be able to roll it outside in the summer for safe garden visits
*All the parts were included

Cons:
*Assembly involved a full hour of two adults swearing
*Tried assembling it by myself; you really need four hands
*Printed instructions were unclear, and incorrect in one part (it indicated some pieces needed to be installed but they were done by the manufacturer, leading us to think we didn't have them for ten minutes
*Although cage has two doors, it's tricky to clean out unless you feel like removing the upper section
*THE RAMPS ARE RIDICULOUSLY STEEP, SLIPPERY AND UNSAFE. To remedy this, I cut thick fabric and attached it to each ramp with binder clips.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but a lot of hassle could have been prevented with video instructions and better designed ramps.

Used it for my pet rats and they basically ate the plastic through the bars all the way around the bottom. Otherwise it's a good cage, they're still contained and safe.
