We are very pleased with the SML07 smith machine. The build quality is sound. The cage has no issue with weight when doing heavy lifting. Very well balanced. The Barbell is sold with good grip. Pulley system is very smooth with light or heavy weight. You can adjust Pulleys to different levels to preform multiple exercises. The Landmine attachment has good rotation when using barbell. The cage holds very well when using the pull-up or parallel bars. No issues with cage shifting or shaking when preforming exercises. The cage has a good footprint to be able to preform exercises inside and out of machine. Also has four pegs in back for plate storage. Plus comes with multiple attachments. Assembly was fairly simple. About four hours with little assistance.
Cons- one box was lost in transit and another box was missing a part. Major Lutie Fitness customer service was quick to send replacements. Had issue with rubber ball & shields on end the cables sliding down when preforming low pulley exercises. Advised by CS too use nylon zip ties to hold in place.
Overall we are very happy with the SML07 and their customer service.

Overall this is a great machine and an excellent buy.

Pros:
-Great quality
-Thoughtfully designed and engineered
-Not difficult to assemble (when using the instructions in combination with the 3d assembly video on Youtube)
-Extremely versatile (I can do 90% of the exercises I typically do in the gym)
-Arrived quickly and without damage

Cons:
-Smith machine moves up and down very well but one of the pulleys seems to have a little more friction than the other. Not enough to throw off the balance too much, but noticeable.
-Lack of available attachments: (I've had to buy Jammer arms, leg press attachment, etc. from other brands ).
-Questionable quality with a few of the pulldown accessories

The cons are annoying (and may change by the time you read this review) but do not negate the value of this machine.

For the price, this is a great buy.

First, this specific product comes in 4 separate boxes PLUS a box carrying the bench, so 5 total. I bought this for my son for Christmas and we decided not to put it together until after the holidays(he opened a box with weight plates and a pic of the machine). At the time that I ordered it, I wasn't aware of how many boxes to look for. The first delivery came and the drivers pulled out two very large and heavy boxes and dropped them off in our shop. This was the first delivery and I asked them if they were sure this was all. They assured me. The next day we got a third box and a couple days later, the bench. Being that it was a gift, we covered them all up immediately because our son frequents the shop.

When it was time to put together we realized we were missing the 4th box. Each box is labeled 1/4,2/4,3/4,4/4. If we hadn't covered them up immediately, we would have noticed the error sooner. After some digging, it seems FedEx showed they delivered 3 boxes the first day that I asked if they were certain that was all. Ironically they even included a picture with 2 of the boxes, but NO picture of delivery for the third one. The last box and bench both showed delivered with pictures as well.

I contacted Major Lutie and they responded immediately!! After explaining the situation they prepared the 4th box I was missing and overnighted it. We received it the next night and put it together with no problems.

Allen with Major Lutie was incredibly responsive. He sent several notices of what was happening on their end with the shipment and made sure I was taken care of without question. The machine itself is pretty simple to assemble(my husband and I worked together) and it's a very solid machine.

This is a rather good cage and allows for a a lot of different exercises. Unfortunately it has some pitfalls in primarily two areas:
- If you ever were frustrated with IKEA instructions, this is NOT for you. It can be assembled by a single person (with two areas that are quite difficult if you don't have three arms), but you have to do it with a total of instructions of 8 drawings to put together about 25 parts with about 60 screws. There are no real instructions how to perform certain steps, there are parts shown in the instructions that are as such not included, but need to be put together as subassemblies first, and in some cases the instructions seem not actually to belong to the current version of the cage.
- The parts are basically not protected at all during transport. Most parts are loosely put in one of 5 cartoons, just protected inside thin plastic bags to avoid them rubbing on each other. So paint damage is almost guaranteed as the bags are probably torn immediately when loaded on the truck. Some parts were bent, some parts were broken, some parts were missing. However, everything was eventually functional.
- The cable pulleys are running with a lot of resistance compared to commercial solutions. That makes the eccentric part of an exercise too easy to have the effect you might be looking for.

But there are of course good sides of this cage:
- The smith machine moves quite easily without adding any resistance. Please note that the bar moves in a 90 degree angle to the ground unlike most smith machines that usually run in a slightly smaller angle.
- The cage is very versatile with smith machine, cables, land mine.
- Customer service is trying to rectify any problems with the product and eventually sent all parts that were missing or broken; small downside is that, probably based on where the customer service is located, communication took usually 24 hours for a series of requests and answers, so it took about 3 days until we could agree on what the correct parts were that I needed.
- The cage is a good value for the price.

All in all, if this product would include "real" instructions with actual useful tips and if it were better protected during transport, this could get 5 stars.

With a 17mm ratchet wrench it took me by myself about 5 hours to put this together - up to the point where I was missing parts... If you want to do the job only with the included tools, you better plan with additional 3 hours. So you might want to spend the $20 for a wrench.

I purchased this rack to replace another rack due to needing a separate pulley system, whereas this rack included a pulley system which is very smooth.

Overall, dealing with the Major Lutie company was great and they were very responsive to my needs I had experienced an issue with one of the five boxes (SML07) never arriving at my house with the other four boxes. Major Lutie was able to get to the bottom of the issue and I received my last box.

The company Major Lutie was unknown to me until only recently. I have Rogue and other similar brand equipment and did not know what to expect, other than that I would be able to save space with this rack since it was replacing two different machines. I was pleasantly surprised once I got the machine together and had the opportunity to experience the smoothness of this machine.

For the price, this squat rack / smith machine is great! It comes with a lot of different attachments to use on the various built in amenities my other rack did not have, such as the footpad for rows and the landmine for various push options. This is my first smith machine and yes, you lose the muscles needed to C to control the stability of the bar and only lift it up and down but the convenience of having a smith machine is far better for me and better overall (again for me).

As far as cons are concerned, shipping took longer due to the missing box (which Major Lutie corrected). The paint job could be a little better or packaged better to prevent the few parts that were highly paint chipped but it's a workout rack not a trophy. The directions were downright horrible. Assembly took longer (about 4 hours total) due to having to disassemble a few things for steps I missed and didn't realize it. This is definitely a two person assembly job. Lastly, the actual smith machine presses are louder because the collars slide on metal poles. The sound isn't annoying or nerve-racking, just a little noisy. My rack is in my garage so wasn't an issue for me.

Despite the few cons. I still gave this rack 5 stars and would have bought this rack sooner or over my old one had I known it existed.

Don't let the company name Major Lutie not being well-known stop you or prevent you from seriously considering any of their racks or other products. I am exceptionally happy with my SML 07 rack and will be for years to come. For the price you pay, you get a lot in return and will have the ability to do so many quality exercises to achieve the physique you are after.

Lastly, than you to Amazon for trusting and allowing Major Lutie to advertise on your sight. Having not known Major Lutie's reputation, this was the reason I ordered it on Amazon. However, after doing business with Major Lutie, I will be looking at more of their products in the near future.

**UPDATE**

This product still continues to amaze me with all of its functionality and Al that I can do with it. I am seeing great results from this machine and all of my friends who have come over to check it out / use it are also seriously considering getting one.

I am also very happy with the customer service of this company. They continue to amaze me with their quick response and overall customer service. I would say this is definitely an up and coming company. I am also expecting their prices to go up a little as they become more popular so, if you are on the fence about getting one, do it now before the prices go up. However, they also offer deals all the time and provide discounts for things like military service; just another reason to chose Major Lutie for your workout equipment needs.
