This is a rather good cage and allows for a a lot of different exercises. Unfortunately it has some pitfalls in primarily two areas:
- If you ever were frustrated with IKEA instructions, this is NOT for you. It can be assembled by a single person (with two areas that are quite difficult if you don't have three arms), but you have to do it with a total of instructions of 8 drawings to put together about 25 parts with about 60 screws. There are no real instructions how to perform certain steps, there are parts shown in the instructions that are as such not included, but need to be put together as subassemblies first, and in some cases the instructions seem not actually to belong to the current version of the cage.
- The parts are basically not protected at all during transport. Most parts are loosely put in one of 5 cartoons, just protected inside thin plastic bags to avoid them rubbing on each other. So paint damage is almost guaranteed as the bags are probably torn immediately when loaded on the truck. Some parts were bent, some parts were broken, some parts were missing. However, everything was eventually functional.
- The cable pulleys are running with a lot of resistance compared to commercial solutions. That makes the eccentric part of an exercise too easy to have the effect you might be looking for.

But there are of course good sides of this cage:
- The smith machine moves quite easily without adding any resistance. Please note that the bar moves in a 90 degree angle to the ground unlike most smith machines that usually run in a slightly smaller angle.
- The cage is very versatile with smith machine, cables, land mine.
- Customer service is trying to rectify any problems with the product and eventually sent all parts that were missing or broken; small downside is that, probably based on where the customer service is located, communication took usually 24 hours for a series of requests and answers, so it took about 3 days until we could agree on what the correct parts were that I needed.
- The cage is a good value for the price.

All in all, if this product would include "real" instructions with actual useful tips and if it were better protected during transport, this could get 5 stars.

With a 17mm ratchet wrench it took me by myself about 5 hours to put this together - up to the point where I was missing parts... If you want to do the job only with the included tools, you better plan with additional 3 hours. So you might want to spend the $20 for a wrench.

Watched Coop from garage gym review on You-tube, he recommended this for a beginner all round cage. The cage and smith machine is great. Sturdy, perfect height in my garage, does not take up too much space. the attachments that come with it allow you to perform a well rounded workout easily. As a lot of people have said, the delivery was messed up, NOT because of Major fitness, but Fedex lost one box, delivered another to the wrong address and were hard to deal with. Vanessa of Major Lutie was fantastic, she liaised with Fedex, got me a new package in just days, and gave me her number so I could call her direct. The overall customer service experience was fantastic, because of that and the cage quality itself I would buy from them again and highly recommend it. Thank you Major fitness.

This smith machine is excellent for the strength portion of our home gym. Very versatile and you can do many exercise with this machine. It wasn't easy to put together and the instructions were lacking. I used the youtube video to help me put it together and it took 4 hours solo. The only thing lacking is the ability to do multiple leg exercises but there is a leg attachment you can purchase to increase the number of leg exercise. I'm planning on purchasing this piece in the future. I would recommend this brand and this piece of equipment.

I've had this Smith Machine for over a month and after using it at least 5 times a week this is what I can say.

The shipment was fast with the exception of a package that was lost, but it was enough to talk to the seller who kindly replaced the box that was missing. If you buy the set that does not have the bench and bumper discs, there are 5 boxes in total.

The installation took me just over 4 hours, it is better to use your own tools because the ones included are not very good. I did it myself but the ideal is to have someone to help you. The instructions are simple but there is nowhere to get lost. I received one or another scratched piece as a result of the movement in the shipment but nothing serious that needs a return.

Once assembled, the Smith Machine is quite solid and due to its weight it does not move when you work on it. The pulley system is very versatile and being able to place them in any position in the vertical allows you to do many types of exercises. The Smith bar fulfills its function although I would have liked it to go lower as in other similar machines. It doesn't seem noisy to me as someone put in another review. If you want to use the J-Hooks it comes with, it is better to buy a 7 foot Olympic bar since the 6 foot one will not fit you because it is very short.

In general terms I love this machine, it fulfills its purpose due to its great versatility, it lets me do all my exercise routine and the truth is that I would not change it for anything, I am very happy with it. I recommend it!!
