Some nights I like to listen to sports radio to help me fall asleep. The CD player I had been using has finally died after 15 or so years. This is an upgrade in several ways: 1) sleep function, up to 90 minutes: perfect, 2) much better reception than the old radio, very impressive, you do need the headphone plugged in, 3) size, I can leave it near my pillow on the bed, 4) usb-c charging, 5) built-in clock.
I think I saw other reviews saying it was complicated, but my experience has been the opposite. It might get tedious re-ordering presets if you want them in a particular order. It has up to 99 presets, and I bet in a metro area, you could fill that up using the auto-scan feature. I would recommend finding the 10-15 stations you need and programming those in manually. After you delete all the existing ones, then when you add them, they will be in your order.
I wouldn't buy this to listen to hip-hop or techno, but for talk radio, it works just fine. Gets plenty loud, but also the lowest level is very comfortable.
For the price, it was a home run.
