UP TO MY KNEES!
ARLMAR✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 25, 2023
I already have a shorter pair that I wear for hiking & they do a great job but I recently got some Zensah knee-high compression stockings & found while hiking some off the beaten path areas of Florida, where I winter, that I quite often picked up a slew of burrs as I very rarely hike in long pants. So I ordered these just to cover my socks. They fit just like my shorter ones: hook onto laces top of my boots, velcro overlapping to my knees & secured at the top by a buckling system that clamps down on the strap. As my legs as somewhat thin under my knees I've found that the strap doesn't cinch tight enough & at it's smallest the closing buckle doesn't always stay clamped down. Even when finally secured I'm left with a long tail of strapping that I have to tuck into the top of the gaiters. Just a little annoying but acceptable. Overall they are quite lightweight & made very well. The bottom leather strap that goes under the arch of your boot has held up for 2 years on my shorter ones without any wear. They also come with an INFINITE WARRANTY so you are well protected. Great in the rain but not water-waders. Also never get hot, even though they are black. All in all I'm quite satisfied & would buy either short or long again. Even my husband has a pair as well as a great many hikers in our Florida Trail Association.
Perfect for unpredictable weather

I bought these for an early September trip to Iceland and cannot express how perfect they were for the unpredictable conditions (rainy for 1 hour, sunny for 1 hour, rainy for 20 minutes, sunny for 20 minutes, etc.). With some finagling they fit well over my ankle-supporting hiking boots and kept everything below the knees dry without me overheating as with full-on rain pants. Once I found the fit they were very easy to put on / take off in less than 5 minutes if the weather changed, and were very easy to store even when wet.

Only complaints are that I wish the bottom strap was a bit longer (the one that runs underneath the boot)- it took quite a bit of effort to find the right fit to get them to fit low around the boot, and I feel that could be easily rectified with a longer strap that allows them to sit higher. They also tended to slouch down a bit over the course of the day - didn't bother me too much and they still suited the purpose, though some of my photos looked a bit uneven if I didn't spend the time to readjust them prior.

Size up if you are tall or using bulky hiking boots and borderline on sizing
K O'D✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 3, 2023
I wear a women's size 9 shoe and somewhat tall with an athletic body type and I chose size medium gaiters based on reviews that said these fit large.

I found these to be a little on the short side when adjusted properly over my boots. They did fit over my Keen waterproof hiking boots (which are quite bulky and large) but I found that they weren't quite long enough to fasten right below my knee without limiting my range of motion and I was concerned that because of that they would fall down while I was hiking.

This is a nicely made product reasonably priced for what you get (especially when it's on sale in the $30 price range). I ultimately opted for a men's medium which is a little roomier and longer, although it's possible that a women's large would also have been appropriate. I rated this 4/5 stars because I find the sizing confusing and wish that measurements of length and circumference ranges were provided.
