Great coffee machine. This model makes both coffee and espresso. Pop in the pod/capsule, push the button and instant DELICIOUS coffee! The machine reads the code on the coffee capsule so it knows exactly how much water to use. And yes, this coffee is delicious. May different flavors and intensities to choose from. You order coffee from Amazon, but I think it is cheaper to order the coffee directly from [...] and they offer free shipping on orders over $50.

The difference between this model and the "original" model is this model makes both coffee AND espresso while the "Original" only makes espresso. I like that I am able to do both with this machine! This machine does not take "original" coffee capsules. You must purchase VertuoLine coffee capsules. It has an auto eject button so your used capsules go into a compartment in the machine. Once filled, you simply remove the compartment and throw away the capsules or mail them back to Nespresso for free (you can get free recycling bags with pre printed postage labels on their website).

Water temperature: The water does not get piping hot as others have mentioned, but I don't like piping hot drinks so this is fine with me. I am able to drink it the second it is brewed whereas my other coffee machine, I had to wait for it to cool down. If you want piping hot, will burn your tongue coffee, this isn't the machine for you. I believe they have a newer model of this machine that might work for you in that regard.

I did NOT receive the sample pack of coffee that was to be included in the box (10 capsules), but the folks at Amazon helped me order replacement pods and even offered to ship next day at no cost to me. That pleased me as I was very angry I was not able to test out my machine right away as I didn't have the coffee capsules to go along with it.

I ordered this just to check it out. Didn't expect much as I am really picky about my coffee and I haven't liked any coffee made from a pod. Much to my surprise I really love this machine and the Nespresso coffee. The unit itself is very sturdy and well made. Definitely a great value for the price. I have used it extensively over the holidays and it is still going strong. The only advice I have is to make sure you read and follow the directions. You must clean and descaer this machine from time to time. That machine lets you know when this is needed by blinking in different sequences as described in the directions. I purchased my machine used and it wouldn't work until I performed a descaling process which took me awhile to figure out but I did it sheer desperation as it was the only coffee I had in the house that day LOL! Once I did that everything worked as expected.

I was so excited for this to arrive today! As soon as it did, I set it up and went to prepare a glass of frothy milky decaf Latte Macchiato (decaf as it was later in the day). Well, that didn't go so well because the little capsule became damaged (after opening and closing the lid with the capsule loaded and not noticing it was stuck in the top) and so nothing dripped into my already frothed glass of milk. The hot water has to be able to 'swirl' around inside the capsule, and it can't if the capsule is not a perfect circle anymore. :( So, I had to pitch the punctured, crumpled capsule into the collection bin and went on to try again, this time using the Voltesso sample (not decaf, but described as lighter in flavor). This time, I loaded and locked the machine properly and held the glass so the coffee extraction would drip down the side of my pre-frothed, pre-sweetened glass of milk and VOILA, a perfect three tiered Latte Macchiato!

It sure did look good, but I wondered if it could really taste as good as my local coffee shop (no, not a Starbucks abut VERY popular with the locals). Well, I can tell you...IT DID. From that very first sip, I was completely hooked!! Now I'm looking into getting all the flavors in sample packs to try them out.

My new household baby is sitting next to our Keurig Office Pro, but I am really hoping to convince my husband (who hasn't even seen it yet) that the Keurig belongs in our RV...or his home office...or his office office....because I want this to be the only coffee machine in my kitchen. I only drink espresso and espresso-based drinks -- my other half drinks both drip coffee and espresso, so this seemed like a decent choice, and that's all I was expecting. Having had Keurig machines around the office for years (which always seem to be malfunctioning and there is inevitably always have an old cup in the chamber -- without even using the Keurigs, even I get annoyed with how often people are complaining about them), I wasn't expecting much, so I kept all the packaging just in case purchasing the whole thing was a mistake.

It wasn't. I love the VirtuoLine and the Aeroccino.

Mind you I have had them less than a week, but the espresso and the drinks that this little machine kicks out are better than I get from most baristas. In Seattle. The crema, the flavor, the ease of use, the design (love the magnetic whisk heads and the waterproof-ness on the Aeroccino and the auto-capsule disposal on the VL, plus the recyclable capsules)... I could go on.

Unlike some of the other reviews I've read on the bundle and the stand-alone machines, I actually enjoy the brew coming out at an immediately-drinkable temperature -- no more waiting a few minutes for it to cool off... and forgetting about it until it's gone cold. According to Nespresso's website, each roast/type of cup has a specific brew temperature and is designed to be immediately drinkable. In case you're looking for hotter drinks, they recommend heating the cup and milk you're adding to it (depending on the drink you're making). Seems easy enough.

I obviously haven't had to use it yet, but there was an interesting note in the manual about descaling this machine. The Keurigs I've been around will allow you to continue brewing indefinitely with lower and lower quality results as the machine continues getting...scalier... and this inevitably impacts the functioning of the machine. If you're the kind of person who tends to forget or just get lazy when it comes to descaling, there's a fail-safe -- after so many descaling notifications, you will not be able to use the machine until you descale it. This might be another thing seen as a downside depending on your views, but I appreciate the fact that there is a way for the machine to prevent damage/malfunctioning due to user error/forgetfulness/laziness. I will just make sure to buy a descaling pack ahead of time. :)

I do wish there was more information on the equivalent pressure in bars to the VirtuoiLine's centrifuge method. So far I have not been able to find anything, and I am definitely curious to see if it competes with the 19-bar OriginalLine.

I purchased my bundle on Amazon ($100 less than Nespresso's site), and any purchase of a Nespresso machine $199 and above (even on Amazon) will get you $100 credit through Nespresso's site if you purchase before Jan 31, 2015. I submitted my paperwork online the day I received my machine (needed the serial #) and the credit was processed in less than 24 hours. With that credit, I bought 120 espresso capsules from Nespresso and with 2-day shipping I paid $8.95. Considering the cost of the machine and the amount of free espresso I received, this was an EXCELLENT deal and made me even happier with this purchase.

If in a few months I start to hate the machine or notice problems/issues, I will come back and update this review. Until then, I'll be drinking WAY too many lattes. :)

I was so excited to recieve my Nespresso! I debated getting one for about a month - I have had a keurig for about 7 years and never had any problems with it. I liked the ease and variety of coffees you could purchase for the Keurig. This is why I was hesitant about the Nespresso...you need the buy the specific Nespresso pods.

What pushed me into buying it though was that I have began to find the Keurig pods pretty weak. I found myself going to starbucks for a 2nd coffee in the late morning/afternoon to get me through the day after my morning K-cup. So after reading reviews on the Nespresso I decided I would give it a try. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED. It is so sleek and stylish on the counter, heats up in 15 seconds, and delivers a qulaity, foamy espresso that is delicious. I have not yet used this to make regular coffee...but I am excited to. I did use the Aeroccino to make a latte - amazing. I am so happy with my purchase and I think the pods are worth the extra $.35 each from what I was paying for green mountain keurig k-cups. At the end of the day $1 a pod is still cheaper than Starbucks/dunkin donuts.
