Breaks and you can't get parts
Unpaid ReviewJune 1, 2018
The machine produces good results WHEN IT WORKS. The problem is that it breaks CONSTANTLY and getting parts to fix it takes forever if you are lucky. We have owned this for almost three years and I doubt we have gone 6 months without something breaking. It broke most recently 9 months ago and we have been trying diligently to get the part we need ever since. We get promises from time to time, but no parts. "Lifetime Warranty" is a complete joke. If we could reliably get new parts I would give this a good rating, but going 9 months at a time unable to use it is totally unacceptable.

Great workout!
It Might Be Best to Buy It After They Address Some Aspects

I'll start with the good. You will feel the burn on this machine. The instructions are very easy and I love how they include the tools needed. It's nice how the machine is customizable too. There are a ton of video workouts led by a former Dallas Cowboy on their YouTube channel that will help you accomplish your goals. The people in the videos are always clear and thorough making them easy to follow. It is lightweight compared to other gym machines and the size and compactness of it are perfect for an apartment. The best part about this is that it's fun. Sometimes it feels like I'm doing an obstacle course challenge on Double Dare or Legends of The Hidden Temple.

Now the problems. I have been wanting one of these for months so my mom took advantage of a sale and bought one for me. (Yeah, I have an awesome mom.) I was instantly surprised by the quality of the CoreXtreme. It is cheaply made. For some reason, I assumed it was made in the USA, but it's made in China. That's OK because just because something is made in China of course does not mean that it is of a lower quality, but this machine definitely is.

At first, I didn't think too much of its quality because it performed well and gave me a great workout with pretty quick results. I got this mainly for my abs, and it not only helped tone my abs but also my arms, thighs, and lower legs. After about two months though, I have come across some problems.

Its lightweight frame is good in terms of transport, but the quality has been sacrificed for the weight. The base isn't very stable.

I have had many problems with the track after the first month. These problems might not exist if it were built with more stable materials. The tracks on mine shake a lot.

The foot guides (pedal sliders) continuously get "jammed" on the track which is very annoying when you have to keep your pace. I know that the resistance bands are supposed to provide well... resistance. However, I'm not talking about the resistance of the bands but the track that the pedals are supposed to slide on.

The "sit-down" exercises (where you have to hold on to the side hand grip bars) make the entire machine go a little off. I think that one of the videos mentions balancing as a part of good form when using the machine, but this odd feeling isn't a lack of balance on my part. It's like a knocking of the machine that makes it nearly impossible for my movements to be fluid.

I feel that the handlebars could have been made better contour-wise.

The sound of the bands might be annoying at first, but you will get used to that and it might even help you with pacing yourself like it did for me.

My assembly wasn't faulty either. I double-checked everything and even watched the CoreXtreme Assembly video to make sure that I did the assembly, locking, tightness, and band attaching correctly, and I did everything perfectly.

I am not overweight so I don't think my weight is causing this machine to be faulty. I always place it on a flat, even surface when I work out. Overall, the machine will give you a fun workout with good results, but the cheap parts will become faulty and I honestly cannot see the CoreExtreme lasting too long especially if used daily. I hope I'm wrong and it will last for years. I know I can call customer support if anything breaks, but at this price, it should have been of great quality to begin with. Most of the machine's parts are very low quality so to replace them with more of the same parts that are low quality seems redundant.

The current reviews on Amazon are mostly 100% so I hate to be the one of the first to leave less than perfect feedback, but at this price (even on sale), I think people need to see my experience before they make such an investment. If the machine had a lower price, I would recommend it even with its faults, but for over $1,300 I would not recommend this machine at its current quality level. That is way too much money to spend on something made with such cheap parts and doesn't seem would last too long.

the Afterburner's wheel-track system broke on me after just a week of normal-light use. The product is made out of a bunch of plastic, light aluminum, and ten dollar resistance bands. I only weigh 165, and it started grinding like a stuck sliding glass door. So naturally, I returned because a $1,000+ workout machine shouldn't be breaking within the first week. Amazon was kind enough to keep 20% of my purchase for a restocking fee for an item that broke because of faulty engineering. I'll stick to physical stores for my big purchases in the future, they don't make you pay for returning the company's crap products. It feels like it's worth about $160, not $1,600.
