This thing is very very sturdy. I have many light stands and tripod stands. And this is definitely the most heavy duty one I have. I just use it to place my projector on it for watching movies. IT fits on there perfectly with some room to spare. Mine came installed with some padding which made the projector stay put nicely. This works great.
It looks pretty sturdy so I do not really worry about it ...
