I spent some time searching and asking on the Q&A for various heating pads in regards to being able to use a smart plug and either 1) people did not understand my question or 2) people did not know what a smart plug was. Here is the final answer to those of you who are wondering.

This pad DOES NOT work with a smart plug. Yes, it will turn on if you plug it into a smart plug. However, the wonderful functions of a smart plug does not work. Once the heating pad turns off, you cannot turn the pad on using the smart plug app. I specifically wanted a smart plug heating pad, so I could turn it on and off for my dog when I am not home. You can disconnect the heating pad by turning off the smart plug, but there is no way to turn it on. You have to manually turn on the heating pad.

Other than that, the heating pad does heat up nicely. The back light on the control is a nice upgrade. I put a very thin microfiber towel on top of the heating pad and put it at a level 4, and my dog stays warm. I bought a RIOGOO heating pad before, and the heating on that one was wonky, and it was not soft. This one is much softer, and so far, heating has been consistent. Also, this one has 5 year warranty, whereas RIOGOO only has one year warranty. Too bad, I can't turn this heating pad on when I am away! Initially, I gave this heating pad a 3, but now that I am writing this review and reflecting on all the pros, I am giving this heating pad a 4.

Updated: I had high hopes for this heating pad. It was a nice large size, not too big. I liked the construction. It didn't separate like old style ones that would fill up with air and shift. I was able to wrap it around my upper arm and get relief. It was great and then 2 days ago it just stopped working, no heat at all. So
now i have to get replacement.

The company contacted me immediately about my original review. They wanted to know the details about the problem. They sent a replacement and I didn't have to ask for it. I really like a company that cares for their customers not just for the bottom line. I really like this hot pad, so fingers crossed it lasts!

This is my favorite heating pad. Has several timing options including just an on switch. Different temperatures and soft fabric. I have also given them as gifts! I highly recommend.

I have had several heating pads. My husband likes it colder than I do, so the air conditioner makes me cold while we watch TV. AND the AC vent is behind me. So I like to have a heating pad. I have used several, most are too hot on the lowest setting. But this one is perfect. I use it every day & it's still working like new. Also, I have arthritis in my wrists and I bend it over my arm to warm my wrists. Other pads have quit because of this, but not this one. I've had it since 2021 and it is great. The bad points . . . hmmmm, can't think of one! In fact, I plan to buy an extra, because it lasts so long, I'm afraid I won't be able to get another one if this one does finally quit!!! It's just the perfect heating pad that I have always wanted.

I used my original Comfytemp heating pad for over a year almost daily, and it worked like a charm. It slowly started to fail and would occasionally display an F on the screen. However, I reached out to Comfytemp customer service and they were quick to offer troubleshooting and subsequently a new heating pad! They were wonderful to work with, and were extremely helpful when the first replacement was lost in the mail (they shipped another afterward). Would definitely recommend.
