Incredibly easy to install right out of the box. The only issue I have to modify is buying an s-video extension cord so that I can put the control box up in the living area in the utility closet instead of down in the crawl space where the main shut-off valve is. Yes, I know my model has the Wifi but it's for my 82 year old mom who likes the ability to push a button on the box. Still a very slick machine. May buy one for my home too.

I have the detector in my laundry room. The washing machine supply line burst while I was at work (the washing machine is on the second floor in my house), this could have been a real disaster. I have a sensor in the laundry room, it detected the water shut off the main supply valve. I received an alert on my phone. When I got home (after a hour drive home, enough time if the water had not shut off for gallons of water to have come out of the burst hose), there was only a small puddle of water on the floor by the washing machine. Cleaned this up, replaced the hose, reset the main switch. This valve control saved me what could have been thousands of dollars in water damage. Since ordering this starter, I have ordered nine more sensors (under each sink in the house, by each toilet value, under dishwasher, inlet for ice maker for freezer, by the hot water heater, and of course by the washing machine. Highly recommend this product.

This product is daunting when you first take everything out of the box, but it is very simple to install on a standard ball valve. Wifi setup didn't work until I disabled 5 Ghz wireless in my access point. This device is a 2.4 Ghz device only, and when pairing using an Android 13 phone, I had to be connected to the 2.4 Ghz network with my phone in order to pair successfully. Even if your 5 Ghz network uses the same SSID, you MUST BE CONNECTED TO 2.4 GHZ with your phone during setup. I also initially installed it on the pipe instead of the valve, which resulted in the motor not being able to complete the entire stroke. I fixed that, and now it works great. Accidentally activated "inching control" in the app, which caused it to keep closing after 5 seconds. Turned this off and now it's stable.
