UPDATE - 500 MILES AND COUNTING:

I am still very happy with this purchase, and in fact have purchased a second one just a month later. This bike rides smooth, fast, and handles well. I have taken it off-road through mud, dirt and grass and it has handled everything I have thrown at is so far. I normally ride with Pedal Assist mode in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd speed... occasionally 4 or 5 for fun. I don't use the throttle much but it's a great option if you need a burst of speed. My 6'3" son-in-law rode it and it fit him fine, so it really does range from 5'2" to at least 6'3". Don't hesitate on this bike, probably the best option under $1k on Amazon.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I settled on this bike after several months of research. I was looking for an eBike under $1k and wanted to get the best bike for the money. While there were several close competitors in this class of eBike, I chose the Ancheer Blue Spark for the following reasons:

1. Great value
2. Mountain/Hybrid type - it looks like a classic mountain bike
3. Pedal Assist AND Throttle options
4. Excellent speed - up to 20mph
5. Excellent range - up to 25 miles throttle only, up to 60 miles with pedal assist
6. Great manual (24-speed) and electronic (5-speed) options
7. Moderate standover height - small enough for my 5'2" wife
8. Top 2 in class by most online reviews
9. Excellent Amazon reviews overall

Some concerns:

1. No cargo rack, standard or optional (no problem, I added a 3rd party backrack)
2. Several negative reviews on manufacturer support/response for customer questions and problems
3. Some reviews complained about assembly challenges and lack of display instructions

Assembly "“ Took just over an hour. Straightforward and simple. The bike comes 85% assembled. All you have to do is attach the handlebars to the stem, rotate the fork 180 degrees (it's shipped backwards for space reasons), install the front wheel in the dropouts, install the pedals, install the seatpost, connect the electronics, connect the battery (charge it fully first), and make adjustments to the front/rear derailleurs. Overall this went pretty smoothly. It could be much easier if the manual was better organized. Some issues with that:

1. Not well written or always clear about process
2. Poor illustrations
3. No indication you must LONG PRESS power button on the Controller to power on
4. No instructions to remove derailleur guard, which is used for shipping purposes only

Display "“ For a bike in the under $1k class the display is fantastic. Sleek, nice backlight with bright/dim option, notates battery power, current speed, average speed, gear level, kilowatts, mileage. Very nice.

Display Settings - There are NO instructions provided to change the display settings. This is important if you want to change from the default kilometers per hour to miles per hour. I was able to find the instructions by searching on the internet and am providing them here:

Adjust Settings - Long press the plus and minus buttons on the Controller buttons for 2 seconds
1. The first setting is "Trip Clear" which is defaulted to TC-n (Trip Clear - no). In order to reset your trip mileage back to 0 press the plus or minus button to change the default to TC-y (Trip Clear - yes)
**Press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to go to the second setting (or long press to save and exit)
2. The second setting is "Backlight" which is defaulted to BL-2 (Backlight setting 2 - medium). In order to change to dimmer or brighter press the plus or minus button to change the default to BL-1 or BL-3
**Press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to go to the third setting (or long press to save and exit)
3. The third setting is "Units which is defaulted to U-2 (km/h). In order to change to Miles per Hour press the plus or minus button to change the default to U-1 (MPH)
**Long press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to save and exit
NOTE: If you are inactive in settings too long it will simply revert back to the main display

Geometry "“ It's perfect for me. I'm 5'8" and right in the sweet spot for this bike. It's marketed as good between 5'1" and 6'4".

Handling "“ For my purposes, excellent. This is branded as a "mountain bike", but I would say it is more of a mountain/hybrid mix. It isn't suited for rugged mountain bike terrain and you wouldn't take this bike on any technical hills. That's fine with me. As long as you know and are ok with a "mountain bike light", this is a great bike:

1. Pedal assist and throttle-only are both very responsive
2. Gets up to 20 mph on the throttle quickly
3. Rides well on the flats and corners well, and you can lock the front shock for flat rides
4. Rides surprisingly well over minor bumps, curbs etc at high speeds
5. Battery life seems to be as advertised so far. I've been on rides up to 30 miles and have never used more than half capacity.

Great bike, terrific value.

I have owned four ebikes and ride around 40 to 50 miles per week. I prefer cheaper bikes because they usually weigh less This bike arrived well-packaged and was shipped quickly by the seller. The included instructions were well-written and very detailed, making assembly a breeze. The fit and finish is excellent. This has to be one of the lightest ebikes at around 50 lbs. I have put 54 miles on it in a day and a half, with lots of uphill climbs. I'm 182 pounds. I achieved 34 miles on the second day with two bars left on the computer. The ride included mostly hilly terrain using pedal assist. On flat ground, riding in level one and two, pedal assist, 40 to 50 miles would be easy to achieve. Fat tire bikes are a novelty. They get flats easily, have high rolling resistance, and typically weigh in at 80 pounds or more. Their range is also awful. The Ancheer, with its thinner tires and light weight,
is far more practical for less money. Replacement batteries are very inexpensive for this type of bike. Increasing the amperage increases the range. Riding, using full throttle completely, will limit any ebikes range unless it has a 20 amp battery or more. If you are looking for a lightweight comfortable bike at a bargain price, I definitely can recommend the Ancheer.

I bought this bike several months ago and wanted to give plenty of time before posting a review. The shipment was quick and the assembly was very straightforward. I have been riding this bike approximately 3 times a week and have loved it. I haven't had a single issue with the bike. The battery has been solid and holds up very well. With only intermittent throttle use (mostly pedaling without assist) I have only had to charge the battery a few times (and that wasn't on complete empty). The bike itself is also very sturdy and feel quality made. The screen functions well and the bike is quick with speaks over 20 mph when using the throttle, and I am over 200 lbs. The only thing I changed was the seat to one that was more comfortable but that is purely a preference issue as the original seat was still very functional. Overall, I give this 5 stars and recommend it highly.

Everything is great about Ancheer Bikes except for their customer service which I would give 3 stars and the ease of obtaining replacement parts in a timely manner which I would rate 2 - 3 stars. Furthermore, their information on their website is not regularly updated.

When trying to contact the seller for a replacement brake lever (an electrical component that you must get from Ancheer for compatibility), they provide a website and a phone number on Amazon. The website sends you to a page on their website that days "Page not Found". Upon diving into their website, I found one way to contact them by email. I never received a response to my email. I eventually received a phone call response to a message I left on the provided phone number about a week after placing the call. I called back and left a message again to never receive a call back.

Finally, I decided to place a one star review on the seller and the product in the hopes of getting some information about where I could obtain a compatible replacement brake lever. This caused almost an immediate response from their customer service team. There was some text-based argumentative tone where they denied I ever tried to contact them before posting the reviews. In a subsequent message (on the Amazon platform, mind you), they said I was "killing" their business because they haven't sold a lot this year.

It turns out that the only way I can receive this part is if they send it to me. In their defense, they did send me one and it took like 3 weeks to get to me from China. I would have much preferred being able to go to a website and order the part with expedited shipping regardless of the cost.

Look, I like Ancheer products, but these are amateur mistakes and the people you have doing your Amazon customer service representation needs to calm down and realize people aren't complaining because they are malicious. These are easily solved issues.

I would change this review to a 5 star rating if the customer service page provided on Amazon was fixed and didn't send you to a "page not found" page.

On this day, November 12, 2021, it's been a little over a year since originally purchasing my Ancheer Bluespark e-bike.

I'm writing this for one main reason. The customer support from this company has always been there for me the entire time since my purchase. You can be assured they will not leave you without assistance, even a year later.

The bike itself has not given me any trouble and still runs like new. However, due to my own carelessness, the bike fell over months ago and the LCD unit was damaged and cracked open.

Due to the numerous amounts of times I've gotten flat tires (the roads in my area are not kept clean and are full of debris) I've had it turned upside down many times which has caused the display to come unattached from itself several times. Upon one reassembly the small lead cable connecting it must have had its final complete reconnection and could no longer transmit information correctly to the rest of the bike.

This resulted in an error code 30, which in turn would constantly shut the bike off every 30 or so seconds. Quite annoying to say the least. I thought it was a cable that might have gone bad, but figured I'd start by replacing the LCD unit first in hopes that was the problem. I wasn't very hopeful that the unit was actually sold separately tbh.

However, after contacting customer support, for like the 3rd time I have in the last year, I was happy that they were able to contact the suppliers and created a link for me to purchase it.

I ordered it immediately and received it today. Very happy to announce that the old display was indeed the problem and due to this sellers continued support, and quick solutions, my bike is now running as it should once again.

The bike itself was not difficult to assemble initially and fixing a flat really only needs an adjustable wrench to remove the back tire. The front one is equipped with a quick release mechanism and needs no tools, other than of course the ones needed to remove the tire from the wheel.

This bike is perfect for getting around where I need to go and has endured the rain it's been through many times. I have to say it really has performed reliably, better, and longer than I thought it would.

The battery life still remains constant and has been recharged hundreds of times. The brake pads are easy to replace and have only needed it once so far. The LCD display shows speed, mileage, trip distance, peddle assist level and more.

The best features of this e-bike are having a throttle as well as 5 levels of peddle assistance. The fact that without any assistance it's just like any regular bicycle. It has front shocks that can be turned on or off with adjustable degrees of shock resistance. To name a few of the features I enjoy.

Not to mention it just looks cool. I've gotten so many looks and questions on where I got it, I feel like a seller lol. If I had 25 cards I would have given them all out by now.

So, if you're wondering if purchasing an e-bike from this seller would be a good idea, I can only say yes 100% it would be. They really have gone above and beyond what has come to the non-existent support of so many other companies of today.
