First of all I want to start by saying I'm a Registered Nurse for 24 years. I have used MANY heating pads throughout my personal and professional career. I found this to be the best I've ever used! I read all the reviews paying close attention to the 1 star ratings. First of all, you can't be microwaving it for 3 minutes without checking it. You should do 1 minute to start then 30 second intervals till it's hot enough for you. It's common sense. I LOVE it and so does my cat Bella...😆. She has a nervous disorder and she came up to me while I was laying in my bed using it. It was only warm at that time so I wrapped it lightly around her and she literally fell asleep purring! I took it off her in about 10 minutes. The weight of it acts like a therapy blanket that I have used on some of my anxious patients. I highly recommend it. Just use it with care.

. . .the stitching on this one is superior to what I could do with a sewing machine. I would've used terry cloth on both sides in stead of the polar fleece/cotton combination.

This pad works much better for heat than for cold. Better to buy one of those gel ice packs for cold therapy. It weighs about four pounds so when you put it on your shoulders you immediately feel the comfortable weight of something warm: it relaxes your muscles very fast. If you fall asleep with it you'll only sweat vs falling asleep with an electric heating pad has the potential to burn. Also, this pad is designed to be place on 'one layer' of clothing, i.e. a t-shirt or other thin covering. Thicker clothing will reduce the therapeutic benefit.

I like pad and when it wears out I might try fabricating one with my sewing machine.

This product is fantastic and precisely what I was searching for. There were many other options, but the rave reviews on this one sold me. I'll start with the design....it warms both shoulders and neck all in one swoop, great for relieving stress tension, or in my case a pinched nerve and a shoulder problem. I'm old, I'm falling apart - but I use this several times throughout the day (warm) for excellent relief of my symptoms. The design leaves me able to actually walk around with it draping over the shoulders the way it does, and sitting upright in my office chair for work. Other neck wrap styles I've had in the past left me with having to stay put and propped on the couch, I was very pleased when I received this and tried it to find that I could go about my day and move around. I've even clipped it in the front and have been able to reach & bend for instance doing laundry! I'd also like to make mention that the seller has been exceptionally pleasant, I've reviewed the seller separately but thought I'd mention here as well. Other reviewers make note of the smell of the rice with this product, it was very noticeable at first for me but did not bother me, I've had perfumed ones in the past and didn't like them, I'll take the faint scent of rice any day. This actually is fading a little more with each use anyway, but if you do prefer a scent, there are instructions included in the purchase for aromatherapy use with essential oils. This is exactly what I was looking for after my previous one bit the dust. I spend my days typing at a computer and carry stress in my shoulders and neck, I look forward to using this each evening! This wrap is nice and heavy which I believe adds to the comfort/relaxation and it stays put when walking around. I fold it in half and microwave it for about 2.5 minutes and it stays warm for 15-20 minutes, then I repeat the process if necessary. It's not immediately hot to the touch when you pull it out of the microwave, but once it sits on my shoulders for awhile the heat radiates and feels incredible. It also smells divine! While not a heavy scent, it is very light and relaxing. The fleece is soft and it seems to be made very well, no loose stitches that I can see. Ladies, this is also great for those miserable few days of the month when placed on the lower abdomen... :)

Absolutley what I was looking for! I'm three weeks away from the due date of my first child and I wanted something that will help me during labor for cooling me down and relaxing me. It's going to be perfect! It's beautiful! Just heavy enough for comfort and it's the perfect size! Thank you so much! I would definitely buy it again!
