Does not link to Alexa. No technical support available.

I like some of the functions of the device and it does work with my cable box, smart TV and denon AV. But it does not link with Alexa. I have tried reaching out to support and only receive cryptic messages in return that are hard to answer because I don't really know what they are asking. I believe that it a translation issue. I bought it specifically for Alexa. If you aren't very technical with an extra device to use for a bridge I would not suggest it for use with a voice command system. If you just want it as an app for the remote it's easy enough.
It does not work and support will not contact you. Dont buy it.

The BroadLink IR Control Hub RM Mini3 does not work it will not connect to WIFI. I tried many times to get it to connect and it just wont work. I am using a 2.4Ghz network . I have many other different devices for smart home connected at 2.4Ghz but this device will never connect. As another user stated I can even connect to the RM MIni 3 unit during setup with my phone but it does not find the router. I also contacted their support as they suggest from their app but nobody has contacted me back. Save your time and money and buy something else. The product does not work and the support is horrible if it even exists at all.
I hooked it up to my surround sound receiver and Alexa

In order to control things like changing the input on my receiver, I had to setup a new TV profile for each input, then in the power button, have it learn what my receiver remote transmits for that input. I can label it based on what I have plugged in. In the end, I can say something like "Alexa, turn Roku input on" and it'll switch the receiver over to the AUX input on my receiver where I have a roku stick plugged in.
Some things are pretty annoying about this device. The need to setup a new TV profile and bind commands to the power button being the main thing. It seems like the HARDWARE is all there, but the software is lacking big time. If they just invested some time into the software, they'd have something very capable here.

In general I like the BROADLINK RM mini 3

In general I like the BROADLINK RM mini 3, it is proceed right and nicely de-signed, but is not fully integrated as a skill for Alexa ... primarily, it lacks the ability to navigate the menu pages of "apps" such as Amazon Prime video, Netflix, Vudu, ect. due to the absence of the skill to navigate "up" and "down" the menus.
In general, on my Vizio Smartcast TV you can have Alexa turn your TV (and sound bar) on and off; mute and unmute; increase and decrease the volume; play, pause, resume a show; change the channel (Its not apparently, but you can also set Netflix, Amazon and Vudu, ect. as channels - just try and "fail", and the way to set it is revealed); you can select next and previous to select from a menu, but as previously noted, you can't move up or down on a menu. Supposedly there's also a timer function, but I haven't tried it yet.
Therealso other lesser important features that aren't accessable Visa Alexa.
The product is made in China and I tried emailing the support email ([email protected]), but my conversation and their reply was apparently lost in translations.
I should also not that while the initial setup was trouble-free, that when I reset it to factory default I had a lot of difficulty setting it up.
Interestingly, you can set up the app remote control, using more that one of your remote controls for the same device - this is useful, if one of your remote has a feature the other doesn't.

Great Universal remote Alexa integration needs work
Bill Brenner✓ Verified Purchase•January 5, 2018
Strictly as a universal remote the unit works flawlessly with the app. I however purchased it because it says that it works with Alexa. While the unit does work very well with Alexa and a TV there is no support in the app for Canadian set top boxes and any devices you setup as a user-defined device will not show up in Alexa either. I was able to get my soundbar to work by starting with the tv setup and then choosing I can't find my brand. Trying the same option for my satellite receiver however does not work and Alexa simply says the device is not responding. Scenes in the app also do not show up in Alexa so that is very unfortunate. There has been a couple updates to the app since I got it a couple weeks ago so I am hopeful that it will eventually allow me to replace my Harmony remotes with Alexa control.
