I've found a good gel pack works just as well if not better

I purchased this after my hand became "all banged up" after a car accident. My three days of icing was up and the ortho suggested heat. It has a tendency to overheat around the wrist end while cooling off really quickly around the fingertip end. If you only need to warm your wrist, this might work for you. I have osteoarthritis that extends from my wrists to my fingertips. I've found a good gel pack works just as well if not better.
