Good robust motor, no direct API / interface

I bought this unit since it seemed to have the best most robust motor drive I could find. The motor unit met all my expectations, it is big, beefy has plenty of torque to turn my ball valve, and the build quality is excellent.
However, I distrust using a phone app through a cloud server based in China for a mission critical application such as this. I was hoping there was an API that I could directly interface to the unit from my home server (which monitors water usage from the water meter), with no outside internet required. No Luck! If a direct API / interface (or even a simple control wire) to home servers was part of the product I would have given it 5 stars. As such I'm going to trash the WiFi control board that came with the unit and build my own control board interface with a ESP32 WiFi Arduino that I can directly interface with. It will take some work but looks fairly simple to do.

Installed on valve very easy!!!
Only hard part is wifi connection.... smooth that process out and this device is perfect!
First Device:
I ran controller using additional 50 feet of PS2 cable with no issues.
Connection to wifi took some time, I needed to use iPad to finally connect.
Support was proactive after purchase and helpful during wifi connection issues.
Key fob worked pre install, not afterwards, I didn't try after wifi connected.

I just purchased my second unit. I have this installed in a vacation home and it works flawlessly. I subtracted one star because it took way too long to set up. Turns out I wasn't able to set it up using my iPhone which had the latest iOS update. I had an iPad with an older version of iOS and that worked fine. I would imagine that's fixed now but we'll see when I install this next unit
